Prima supply projects

I'd love to share with you some fun new projects that I have been working on since I've been playing with Prima's mixed media supplies. The watercolors are phenomenal! I love mixing them with the soft gloss gel. You are able to manipulate them and add subtle textures when painting the face. The watercolor pencils are incredible for adding details around the eyes, lips, nose....and even accenting the hair. They can then be activated with water or the soft gloss gel. The heavy white gesso is a must for creating lots of juicy texture before adding the watercolor on top. The watercolors then meander in the crevices to create the most beautiful distressed finish to the face.

supplies used:

Prima Watercolors - used in face and body
prima black gesso - painted in background then topped with alchemy paints
Alchemy paint - background
watercolor pencils - in face and mark making
heavy white gesso - 2-3 layers to build up lots of texture
soft gloss gel - to activate and hold the watercolor and w/c pencils
oil pastels - smudged around face
watercolor paper - cold press
Finnabair glitter and shimmer - in crown

oil pastels

The oil pastels, when activated with the the soft gloss gel is killer for adding subtle shading around the eyes and nose. Tap the oil pastel in with small dots and then add a small bit of gloss gel and tap the gel in with a brush (and with your finger to finish if you like).

Here is another project I created using only Prima products. The colors are so beautiful and work well together.

Here is a close-up of the same projects using the alchemy paints and the soft gel to create subtle shading in the face. The oil pastels and watercolor pencils are also featured here in the hair and below the neck. (again activated with either water or the soft gloss gel). They are a powerful combination....the gel and the watercolor products!

supply eye candy!!

Prima Watercolors - these are not your ordinary cheap watercolors. They have exquisite artist quality potency and are amazing when activated with water and moved with the soft gloss gel.
