Poodle tent

We got a play tent at Ikea. It's supposed to be for kids but we thought it would be fun to have for our poodle boys. I thought Sammy would be the one who loves it most, but to my surprise Merlin has claimed it.

He's a weird Standard poodle and I love him.

Two words! Sticker Books

The long awaited sticker books are HERE!  They are stunning in person! They come with re-sealable sticker pages plus dot grid pages. And this month, I'll be featuring a new download that you can add into this book.

This is the 3 hole punch I use to add things to the binder.

I also made some Rainbow Brite bookmarks that would be a cute addition to decorate your book. Also don't forget about the clips in the shop to hold and decorate your pages. There's also some pockets that you may want to check out.

Do I want all the neat stuff? Yes I do! I hole-punch the postcards and the sticker sheets and put them in my book. What a fun way to store and display all the NEAT things!!!

Matching washi tape is also up in the shop!

Washi tape too!

Sticker books are coming soon!

Neat Stuff Sticker books are in production and will be here in about 4 weeks! What a dream it's been to design these Rainbow Brite inspired books. They will feature releasable sticker paper where you can stick and remove your stickers. It will also double as a planner with dot grid paper. And for the Neat stuff sticker club members, I'll be sending downloadable inserts to add to your book.

Sticker books are very limited and Club members will get first access to these sticker books. Also coming is some washi tape to match!

I can't get enough 80's nostalgia folks! And I'm beside myself with excitement over these.

My drawings and doodles never make sense. At least they never fit nicely into scholastic rule following sense.  I want to have fun and draw things I love without worrying about perfection and perspective and all that un-fun type stuff. Are my buildings smaller than a cookie? You bet! Are my animals bigger than a house....? ok yes! Can we put all that together on a page and stack up things that have meaning to us? Absolutely !

We will gather symbols, patterns, and inspiration we love and create the muscle memory to put them all together.

We will slide down the rainbow we created and celebrate everything colorful, fun & happy!

Gumpy girl. And being afraid and doing it anyway.

Happy New Year ! For my first post of the new year, I thought I'd share a bit of my acrylic process with you. I love using the GAC100 medium from golden to tap in the paint with my finger. I've been doing this method for about 10 years or so. I always come back to it. I love the way it thins out paint and gives you luminous layers of shadow and light. I use a bit of green on the sides of the face as well as some Quin. nickel ago gold around the eyes and a very subtle shadow under the nose and lip.

I also got some new oil pastels called neopastels. These are the ones that stay creamy and don't activate with water. I love the child-like play and innocence I capture from using the pastels.

I've been feeling a strong pull to focus on my art process more. I absolutely adore teaching and I'm not stopping by any means. But this pull to explore more on my own and to focus on my craft has been louder than before. Do you feel these pulls as the New Year sets in? I would love to apply to craft and art shows locally but I'm a bit hesitant. It's all based on fear of failure of course. Sometimes it helps to speak these things out loud and then do it anyway. I saw a cute 6-ish year old girl waiting to ride a BIG roller coaster and she was so afraid. So I gave her a high five and I said something like, "you are afraid and doing it anyway!" Two of her friends were there cheering her on and I thought there could be something to learn here...... in art.....in life....in riding big roller coasters. Do you have something that you are afraid of? Are you making plans to do it anyway? And who can you count on to cheer you on?

Get out there and go ride that thing that scares you. It may be LOTS OF FUN!

happy happy Thursday, friends!

stickers and prints coming soon!
