Blessings

Last Friday, as I was meeting my husband for lunch….I heard this song. Blessings.
The chorus begins and I hear "what if your blessings come through rain drops"…. and I got chills. I had just finished this painting before getting in the car……

We pray for blessings, we pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
And all the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

'Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom, Your voice to hear
We cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt your goodness, we doubt your love
As if every promise from Your word is not enough
And all the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

'Cause what if your blessings come through rain drops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

and here is the song

  2. Beautiful song and painting Mindy. Thank you so much for sharing this song and your art. I bookmarked this page in my "cloudy day" folder. It's where I visit on those not so great days when I need to be reminded about hope and joy in life.

  3. It made me smile seeing that you were sharing this song with everyone. A year ago I was in the process of a miscarriage when I heard this song on the radio one day for the first time. It has such a strong meaning for me. :) Thanks for sharing! I just love your painting and it is so fitting with this song. Today we are almost 8 months pregnant with our second child and first baby boy. :) God is good.

  5. This is one of my favorite songs, and the story of how it came to your mind after you finished your painting--goose-bump-factor, for sure. Beautiful work.
