Magical painted papers

 Happy Friday !

I've been in an art funk as of late. Summer always has its way with me. Staying inside in the AC is not for me. I like to get out and walk, go to the park, and meander around breathing fresh air. I love birding and looking for Gators. I love to watch nature. When forced to stay inside, I begin to feel smothered and for some reason question my art. Should I let slow sales and activity deem my worthiness? Heck no! But does it? a big fat yes. I am working on that part of my self and staying resilient. My body is not happy sitting all day. And art making has really turned into work and something I don't look forward to. My body hurts.

When faced with challenges like this, it can be a blessing. So a light bulb went off the other day to paint papers. I've been going through my sketchbook and getting inspired by scribbles and paint marks and simple lil faces. So I've been standing and making more art. And my body is happier. I've been sleeping better even! I'm creating gelli prints, painting papers, and making marks.

I have been wanting to paint more abstractly. But I really suck at it....haha! Abstracts are so hard. As I've been painting these papers and experimenting with mark making and really playing and staying curious....I'm thinking this may be a perfect avenue to help me feel more confident painting abstractly.

And these papers have been such a gift and blessing to me! I decided to put together some packs for you. And you can check them all out in my etsy shop.

I have a large pack and one that is smaller. Each pack is a mystery and will be similar to what you see here but all are unique and original and one of a kind.

Large packs:
full sheets that are around 8x10"

one of my favorite pages so far

Stay tuned! I'm creating a class around these magical painted papers!
